Human Resources Generalist

Certify is looking for an HR Generalist to join our expanding Employee Success team. The HR Generalist will provide a wide variety of routine to complex administrative and technical support in all facets of human resources administration. This position requires the ability to work with others while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages all recruiting efforts including maintaining the Applicant Tracking System, coordinating and scheduling interviews and offers, and on-boarding new employees.
  • Handles HR-related paperwork and procedures including new hires, terminations, and changes in status. 
  • Maintains and updates HRIS and provides reporting as requested.
  • Audits personnel information to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provides guidance to employees and supervisors regarding performance management. Assists with tracking the completion of annual performance evaluations and all associated reporting.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Stays up to date with California, Maine, and US labor laws.
  • Administers and maintains employee benefits programs 
  • Administers and tracks all leave of absence programs, ensuring labor laws are applied and documented accordingly.
  • Oversees facilities services and management of office administrative functions to include coordination of improvements and repairs, furniture and office supply ordering, and helping to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Coordinates internal and external office events, including volunteer opportunities, promoting teambuilding and a positive morale.
  • Performs a variety of special projects and related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field related to Human Resources, Business, Accounting or equivalent work experience and training
  • A minimum of 2 – 4 years of human resources generalist experience with startup or high-tech industry experience
  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office and HRIS platforms. Must have the ability to understand and pick up various computer systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and outstanding attention to detail with ability to effectively manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must possess strong problem solving abilities and the ability to research, analyze, and organize data. 
  • Must have the maturity to maintain confidential and sensitive employee information.
  • Must be self-motivated, dependable and conscientious.
  • Great team player who is excited about working in an agile team
  • Proactive, "roll up your sleeves" work ethic
  • Professional certification such as PHR-CA or SHRM-CP is preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to travel to our east coast office on a quarterly basis
